Pro Detailing; Is It A Sham?

Updated: Aug 21, 2023

It is full-blown TwistGrip Season! (Unless you’re one of those brave souls who toughs any condition to get their breezy-knees fix; our hats are off to you!).

With riding season, as any of us two-wheeled vets know all too well, comes the intense, and [all too real] UFO’s and other menacing, seasonal hangups (Roadgrass, etc. etc.). With all the crud the roads collect during spring rains and summer cuts, the spawns of teeth-caking pestilence that perform aerial suicide-attacks on special paint jobs, and the tar-asteroids that cover our machines after riding construction-ridden motorways, it doesn't take a responsible motorcycle owner [a blind motorcycle owner could see] very long to see the mucky results left on every surface after intensive riding. Sure, anyone can (and undoubtedly should) clean and detail any and all of their machines - and this is so for a multitude of reasons: We’re talking about your hard-earned investments here-not to mention these machines are your babies! That custom paint, though…

That big chrome front wheel...

Big Chrome Front Wheels, "Yes, we need TLC"

• You’ll be protecting your investment so that it retains its resale value….. • You increase the longevity of its good-looking self …..Not to mention the endurance of the small “forgettables” (conditioning of leather parts, polishing of precious metals, filling in the dimples of paint left on by UFOs, etc etc). In our industry, there are many different terms with multiple definitions, most all based on similar circumstances- *Cleaning - may simply mean wiping the thing down with a good spray-and-wipe cleaner once in a while before a rip. *Washing - the old sudscovering, foamblasting, or cannonbubbling - no matter the method, it’s simply washing the thing of most foreign contaminants (also being sure to properly dry it, using forced air or pure chamois cloths). And now we arrive at today’s topic:

*Detailing - the process of deep-cleaning, shining, polishing, and protecting your ride. Think of your not-to-be-missed scheduled trip to the dentist’s office….yikes!! sore subject? Nevermind…Anyway, even just once a year can do the trick, but that’d be about the barest of minimums. You should certainly, at least, wash your ride once a month, and that’s with light riding.

A detailing adds another element - a TLC dose that exceeds the minimum and carries with it remarkably badass results. An even further explanation:

*Pro-Detailing - as much filth as possible will be extracted from places you probably didn’t even know existed; paint imperfections will be remedied (at least a heartfelt attempt at repair will be made; at times, the surface is simply too far gone-if this is the case, you may want to get in touch with your local painter!); and protective measures will be taken to ensure future appeal, enticement and functionality. Regularly, folks believe (rather, assume) that a thorough detailing is only an opulence or indulgence! This couldn’t be further from the truth! The list of benefits that come with motorcycle detailing is nearly inexhaustible. Just to name a few more benefits gleaned from professional detailing: •Improved Resale Value •Regular Motorcycle Detailing Makes It Easy to Catch Problems Early •Prolonged Life of Your Motorcycle and Its Multiple Surfaces! •The Others, oh will they DROOL over your dripping clean machine! There is hardly a limit to the amount of detailing that our seasoned experts can do for the utmost glory of your pride and joy - your motorcycle! A Cleaning is good; a Washing is better; and a Pro-Detailing is best to maximize the life, longevity, and light of your two-wheeled pavement eater. It’s a deserved service for the iron steed that carries your body, mind and spirit into the breeze and out of this world. Schedule Your Appointment Today!
